Planting Community

Design Charettes with Tamales y Bicicletas

We are honored to have an ongoing relationship with Tamales y Bicicletas urban farm, from even before the existence of Radicle. After 5 years of the community volunteering their help and expertise, a deep winter greenhouse was built on site at the farm. Radicle stepped in to help conceive of a perennial support garden in the liminal space around the greenhouse. Community design charettes and meetings have pushed along the idea of a perennial garden with separate zones: woodland, dye, old foodways, and an edible shrub walk.

Next tasks are to get funding to install and help steward this space so that it can be a strong and robust support, not just for the urban farm, but for the neighborhood surrounding it. Keep checking back for updates!
